If you have to reinstall Windows there should be no need to convert unless you want to.
You can just clean the disk and then install Windows.
- Boot up Windows Installation media.
- On the first screen, press SHIFT+F10 to open a command prompt window.
- Type diskpart and enter.
- Type list disk. (look for your disk number, check the size of the disk)
- Type select disk . example: select disk0 (select the disk you want to format)
- Type clean.
- Type convert gpt (optional)
- Close the command prompt window.
- Continue with the installation.
