@EFLYNN, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI Update Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're experiencing issues with updating your HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI, here are some potential steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Verify Installation Location: Ensure that the updated version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI is installed in the correct location. It typically needs to be on your system's hard drive or a USB flash drive.

Check for Complete Installation: Confirm that the installation process completed successfully without errors. You may need to run the installation process again to ensure everything is set up correctly.

BIOS Search Order: When starting the diagnostics, ensure that the BIOS is correctly searching for the diagnostic tools. The BIOS usually checks the connected USB flash drive first, then the hard drive, and finally the BIOS itself.

Reboot and Access UEFI: After installation, restart your computer and access the UEFI diagnostics by quickly pressing the esc key and then f2. Ensure you are selecting the updated version when choosing diagnostic tests.

Remove Previous Versions: If you have multiple versions of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI available, make sure to remove outdated versions that might cause confusion during boot-up.

Download Again: Redownload the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI from HP's website and ensure that the file is not corrupted or incomplete.

Boot Order: Check the boot order settings in the BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure it prioritizes the correct location (hard drive or USB) where the diagnostics software is installed.

USB Flash Drive: If you're using a USB flash drive to run diagnostics, ensure that it is properly connected, formatted correctly, and that the newly downloaded diagnostics tool is present on it.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
