My support show 2 updates. But when I navigate to the search screen, the search graphic just keeps searching. It never finds anything (have let it search for 20 - 30 min.) . I have to close the support screen to stop the search. And have tried this at least three times this past week.

Thanks for the reply,
I appreciate your time and effort.
I understand that you are unable to install HP Support assistant.
Ensure there are no multiple versions of HPSA installed in the computer.
Go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a program / Programs and Feature > Search for HP Support Assistant > If found uninstall.
Try to un-register and re-register Windows installer using the following steps:
Step 1:
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run, copy and paste the following text in the Open box and press Enter
Msiexec /unregister
Step 2:
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run, copy and paste the following text in the Open box and press Enter
Msiexec /regserver
The, go back into the website for HPSA: Click here and download the version for Windows 10.
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers.

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!
I understand you are having issues performing Windows update on your HP PC. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up.
I would suggest you start off by performing a Bios update on the PC from our HP Support website, using this link.
If you have problems installing the Windows updates, go to the Microsoft website and use the Windows Update troubleshooter.
Then, restart the computer and run Windows Update again.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
Let me know if that works.
Cheers.
