Hello, I have an HP ALL IN ONE computer running windows 10 home. I've tried resetting in but to no avail. It says your PC / device needs to be repaired it required device isn't connected or can't be accessed error code 0xc0000185. I think it also needs something fixed with the boot also. Thank you for your time. MDMAYBE68

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the upgrade issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
The error code 0xc0000185 on Windows 10 usually indicates that there is a problem with your PC's boot configuration. Fortunately, there are several steps you can take to resolve this issue:
1. Check Physical Connections
- Ensure all cables connecting to your HP All-in-One computer are properly plugged in and secure.
2. Use Windows Startup Repair Tool
- Insert a Windows installation media (USB or DVD) into your computer and restart it.
- When prompted, press any key to boot from the installation media.
- Select your language preferences and click Next.
- Click on Repair your computer at the bottom-left corner.
- Click on Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the repair process to complete.
3. Rebuild Boot Configuration Data
- Boot your computer using the Windows installation media as above.
- Instead of selecting Startup Repair, click Command Prompt.
- In the Command Prompt window, type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:
- bootrec /scanos
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd - After running these commands, close the Command Prompt and restart your computer.
4. System Restore
- Boot using the Windows installation media.
- Click on Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore.
- Select a restore point when your system was functioning correctly and follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Reset Your PC
- If none of the above steps work, you can attempt to reset your PC.
- Boot from the Windows installation media.
- Click on Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
- Choose to keep your files or remove everything based on your preference.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
