Hi @Dwightrings_22,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a "path not found" error with the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) on your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop with Windows 11, follow these steps for potential resolutions:

1. Verify WSL Installation:

  • Open a Command Prompt or PowerShell window.
  • Run the command wsl --list to see if your Linux distributions are listed.
  • If WSL is not listed, you may need to enable the feature by running wsl --install.

2. Update WSL:

  • Ensure WSL is up-to-date by running wsl --update in an elevated Command Prompt or PowerShell.

3. Check Linux Distribution Path:

  • Ensure the correct path is set for the Linux distribution in your WSL configurations. You can check this by running wslconfig /l from the command prompt.

4. Reset the Linux Distribution:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features in Windows.
  • Locate your Linux distribution, click on it, and select "Advanced options."
  • Use the "Reset" option to reset the distribution without uninstalling it.

5. File System Check:

  • Sometimes, the Windows file system might run into issues. Use chkdsk to scan and repair file system problems:
    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run chkdsk /f

6. Reinstall WSL:

  • Open an elevated PowerShell and uninstall WSL components by running:
    dism.exe /online /disable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /norestart
    dism.exe /online /disable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /norestart
  • Reboot your system.
  • Reinstall WSL by executing:
    dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart
    dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /all /norestart
  • Restart your computer and try setting up WSL again with wsl --install.

7. Consult Online Resources:

  • Check Microsoft or forums like Stack Overflow for any similar error solutions or additional troubleshooting steps.

By following these steps, you should be able to address the "path not found" error with WSL on your HP desktop running Windows 11. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
