Hello, I plugged a HP M24 Webcam monitor into a MacBook Pro (Mac OS 15 Sequoia) and the webcam/Microphone isn't detected. I have a DisplayPort and USB3 cables connected. The Screen detects properly and works fine, but no Webcam/Microphone are available to use. I tried to run the monitor software but the OS doesn't allow it to be installed.
I am wondering if anyone has a solution.

Hi @DanielatUltraIT<
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand you're experiencing an issue where your HP M24 Webcam Monitor's webcam and microphone are not being detected when connected to a MacBook Pro running macOS 15 (Sequoia), despite the display functioning correctly. We're here to assist.
1. Ensure the USB Cable Is for Data, Not Just Power
Make sure the USB cable you're using is a USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-B (printer-style) cable that supports data transfer, not just charging. The webcam and mic only work over USB, not DisplayPort.
2. Check macOS Privacy Settings
macOS may be blocking access to the webcam/mic:
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Make sure apps like Zoom, Teams, or FaceTime have access.
- Do the same under the Microphone.
If the HP M24 webcam isn’t listed, it means macOS isn’t detecting it at all.
3. Try a Different USB Port or Cable
- Use a different USB port on your MacBook Pro.
- Try a different USB 3.0 cable (preferably one you know works with other devices).
4. Use a USB-C Hub with USB-A Ports
If your MacBook only has USB-C ports, make sure your hub supports USB 3.0 data passthrough. Some cheaper hubs only support power or video.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I tested the USB-C to USB-C cable (Originally purchased for use between MacBook and HP Monitor) to see if it supported data (Which it does).
I then plugged a known working USB Drive into the MacBook USB-C port to test if the port functioned properly. (It detected drive, and after OS prompt popup could access drive contents)
I then proceeded to plug USB-C Monitor cable into MacBook, Monitor Webcam/Microphone detected, setup Microsoft Teams, tested and everything works perfectly.
Many Thanks.
