I am currently running BIOS 68IAV Ver. F.71 on my laptop but I saw that a revision has since come out: F.71 Rev.A. Does it make sense to do this update? I cannot find out what the release notes of this update are.

Every BIOS update on every HP PC made in who knows how long, has a Rev. A after it.

F.71 is the same as F.71 Rev.A.

Check any HP driver page you want, and you will see what I am referring to.

Without the model number of the PC, that question is difficult to answer.

The only model I found with that BIOS version was fairly old, please post the model number.

Thank you both for the reply. The remarkable thing is that there is a difference in time stamp between what msinfo32 indicates and what I see on HP's website:

msinfo32: BIOS Version/Date Hewlett-Packard 68IAV Ver. F.71, April 19, 2019

support.hp.com: F.71 Rev.A - May 14, 2019

So my impression is that an update to version F.71 has come.

You're very welcome.

The date you see on the support page is the date HP posted the update to the support page

It will always be more recent than the BIOS date you see in the PC.

Thank you very much for the explanation Paul! So I don't have to worry about that  🙂

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

You don't need to be concerned.

Any of the driver dates on the support page will always be newer than the driver date shown in the PC.
