I have an hp laptop and there is a medium sized box in the bottom right of my screen with a scroll bar and it wont go away. It has been days and I don't know what to do.

Is the box part of the picture (application) or is it part of the desktop? (I see a tiny piece of the desktop at left edge.)
i.e.: when you move the picture does the box go with picture?
If the box moves with the application then there is a bug in the app. Possibly a request for you to read something and agree to it but the text is not shown. Scroll all the way down and press the enter key. I am guessing of course.
Alternately, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and bring up the task manager.
Look under processes, examine the apps that are running and start terminating them. If the box goes away at least you know the application that caused the problem.
I assume you already scanned for a virus.
Good Luck!
