Why does HP recommend MacAfee versus Norton? I am deciding which to use on HP Envy 27" All-In-One desktop.

No idea - "why".

Use what you like.

Read the reviews, check the features - use what works best for your situation.

 

 

Lots of choices out there.

 

I like Avast Premier.   Nice password manager, too, for both PC and mobile devices.

Ask your friends what they use.
