How do you know it is out of date?
To download it, run HP Support Assistant, go into the Fixes and Diagnostics section, Select Diagnose PC Hardware Issues, scroll down to the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics window, click the down button. When the Softpaq downloads, find the folder, right-click and select Run as administrator, and it will install and run. Takes a couple of minutes to start.
I just did this and for me, it is version 2.5.0.0.
