HP ENVY All-in-One - 32-a1200nd
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

Recently, my desktop (HP ENVY All-in-One 32-a1200nd) keeps disconnecting from the internet. Furthermore, the whole option of choosing a Wi-Fi connection disappears in the bottom right-hand corner. As if there is no Wi-Fi driver at all. I have tried updating my drivers, uninstalling en reinstalling the Wi-Fi driver and even tried to make changes in the power usage of the driver but to no avail.

In 'Device Manager' the Interl(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX291 160 MHz gives this error warning:

The device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unseccessful.

When I try to find the most recent drivers on the HP website, it doesn't give the options for Windows 11 for my specific computer. This leads me to think that this might have a link to the problem? However, I've been using Windows 11 for months and these issues only recently started occurring. Before, this would very occasionally happen, but it would be fixed with a restart.

What can I do to fix this issue?

Hope someone can help me with this.

Kind regards,

Sam

@samfiss, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Restart + Power Reset

Shut down your PC.

Unplug the power cable.

Hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Plug in and turn it back on.

Update with HP Support Assistant

Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from here).

Install all updates (especially BIOS and drivers).

Reinstall the Wi-Fi Driver

Open Device Manager.

Right-click your Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201Uninstall device.

Check "Delete the driver" if available.

Restart your PC.

Then install the latest driver:
Download Intel Wi-Fi Driver

Turn Off Power Saving for Wi-Fi

Go to Device Manager → your Wi-Fi adapter → PropertiesPower Management.

Uncheck: "Allow the computer to turn off this device..."

Also:

Go to Control PanelPower Options → set Wireless Adapter Settings to Maximum Performance.

Update BIOS and Chipset

Go to your HP model’s driver page:
HP ENVY 32-a1200nd Drivers

Download and install:

BIOS update

Chipset drivers

I hope this helps.

We have also had this issue for the past year with our All In One Envy 32.
Have gone through all these steps and verified we have the latest driver. No luck.

The “Code 10” error usually means a driver issue. Try uninstalling the Wi-Fi adapter from Device Manager (check delete driver software), restart, then install the latest Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201/AX211 driver directly from Intel’s site instead of HP. Also, disable power saving on the adapter. Sometimes, like staying consistent in routines (e.g. reading Surah Yaseen), patience with step-by-step fixes helps.

Hey Sam 👋, sounds really frustrating. The Code 10 error usually points to a driver/firmware conflict rather than pure hardware failure. Since you’re on Windows 11 and HP doesn’t list Wi-Fi drivers for it, here are a few steps worth trying:

  1. Clean reinstall Intel drivers → Download the latest Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201 package directly from Intel’s website (not HP), uninstall the current driver in Device Manager (check Delete driver software), then install the fresh package.

  2. BIOS & chipset update → Grab the latest BIOS and Intel chipset drivers from HP’s support page for your model (even if they’re for Windows 10, they often work fine on 11).

  3. Disable “Modern Standby” power saving (if enabled) — sometimes Windows 11 aggressively powers down the adapter.

  4. If none of that works, try a system restore to a point before the issue started — if it began after a Windows update, rolling back may help.

As a temporary fix, a USB Wi-Fi adapter could keep you online until the built-in card is stable again. Worst case, the card itself might be failing, but usually Code 10 is driver/software related.
