Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi. I am trying to find my windows 8.1 product key so that I can upgrade to windows 10. My PC is out of warranty  and when purchased new came preloaded with windows  8.1 with no info on product key. Any suggestions how i can get the product key?

Hi:

 

The W8.1 product key is encrypted in your notebook's BIOS.

 

You don't need it to upgrade to W10.

 

To upgrade to W10, use a W10 PC to create a bootable W10 x64 USB flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.

 

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

After the USB media is created, do not boot from it.

 

Open the flash drive in Windows explorer, double click on the Setup application file you see listed in the flash drive to begin the upgrade process to W10.
