Hi @mush_746,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your wireless keyboard turns off even after installing new batteries. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

a. Check Power Source (Batteries)

Make sure the batteries are installed in the correct direction (+ / -).

Try using a fresh pair of high-quality alkaline batteries, not rechargeable ones.

Ensure the battery contacts are clean and free from dust or corrosion.

b. Verify USB Receiver Connection

Ensure the USB wireless receiver/dongle is firmly connected to the computer.

Try connecting it to a different USB port, preferably directly on the PC, not through a hub.

c. Power Button / Switch Test

Turn the keyboard ON/OFF switch off, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on.

When turning it on, check if the LED light blinks or stays on briefly before shutting off.

d. Check for Power Indicators

Observe if any lights blink or fade quickly, which could indicate low power or poor contact inside the battery compartment.

Light turning off immediately may indicate the keyboard is not pairing or losing power connection.

e. Reconnect / Re-Pair Keyboard

Remove the USB receiver and plug it back in.

Turn the keyboard off, then on, and check if it reconnects automatically.

If there is a Connect or Pair button on the keyboard, press it for a few seconds.

f. Perform a Soft Reset

Turn off the keyboard and remove the batteries.

Wait for 30 seconds, reinsert the batteries, and turn it on again.

This helps clear minor internal glitches.

g. Check for Wireless Interference

Move the keyboard closer to the PC.

Remove any metal objects or other wireless devices between the keyboard and receiver that might cause signal interference.

I hope this helps.
