when trying to install mcafee antivirus I get the message - an administrator has blocked you from running this app
I have tried all methods listed on the web like deselecting windows defender, command prompt etc. It still does not work. I am not even able to uninstall the earlier version of mcafee antivirus which has expired

Assuming some things, but have you tried right clicking the McAfee installer and then pick run as administrator?
Also assuming you are on an administrator account in Windows

I am sorry but I need some more details in the answers posted. You tried both what?
Look in the accounts section of Settings section and click on accounts. When it opens it will show your account info: the name, the sign-on and the under that the type of account. What does it say for you? What type of account?
