So every time i take off my charger for my computer windows 11 it shuts down and its on percent 100 and i contacted Microsoft assist and they told me to contact you and have a battery charge like charge the battery and i have a windows 11 and it been happening for couple of weeks now and the battery capacity right now is 16,267 mWh and the design capacity is 41,040 mWh  can someone help please

Well, this issue usually means your battery can no longer hold a functional charge, despite Windows showing 100%.  Meaning, you'll likely have to replace your battery.
 
Your battery capacity has dropped to about 39% of its original design capacity (16,267 mWh out of 41,040 mWh). When you unplug the charger, the degraded battery fails to deliver the high voltage required to run the laptop, causing an instant shutdown.
 
However, before ordering a new battery, here is how to troubleshoot and perhaps even fix your issue:
 
Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset:
 
Sometimes static power or corrupted temporary power data causes instant shutdowns.
 
  • Shut down the laptop completely.
  • Unplug the charger and all external devices.
  • Hold the power button down firmly for 15 to 30 seconds.
  • Plug the charger back in (do not turn it on yet).
  • Power on the laptop and test it.
 
Step 2: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
 
HP laptops have built-in tools to verify if the battery is physically failing.
 
  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Press the power button, then immediately tap the F2 key repeatedly.
  • Select Component Tests from the menu.
  • Choose Power or Battery.
  • Run the Battery Test once.
  • Note any failure ID codes provided if the test fails.
 
Step 3: Reinstall the Battery Drivers:
 
Corrupted battery drivers can send incorrect power signals to Windows.
 
  • Right-click the Start Menu and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Batteries section.
  • Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
  • Select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop while keeping the charger connected.
  • Windows will automatically reinstall a fresh driver upon reboot.
 
Next Steps:
 
If the HP diagnostics test says "Replace" or if the driver reinstall does not work, the battery has reached the end of its lifespan. You will need to purchase a replacement battery matching your specific HP laptop model number. (Most likely scenario.)
