Since you refer to a battery, I have to presume this is a Notebook -- even though you posted this in Desktops.
With a dead battery, the ONLY thing you can do, since laptops will not start with a dead battery, is go online and buy a replacement -- and see if it starts then. There is no guarantee it will -- but without a new battery, it definitely will NOT start.
