Have an HP ENVY h8-1414PC (Product #: H3Z00AA#ABA) computer with the AMD 6-core FX6120 Processor.  Trying get it to Boot from a USB.  Entered Setup, Pressed F9 for boot menu.  Do not see either hard drive or the USB Boot Option.

What am I missing?

Hi:

If you got into the boot options menu by first pressing the ESC key and then the F9 key and see no devices to boot from...

The only suggestion I can offer if you only see a 'Boot from EFI' file listed in the boot options menu would be to go into the BIOS (F10) disable secure boot and enable Legacy mode.

Then you should be able to see a UEFI and Legacy boot source listing of devices.

Boot from the UEFI USB flash drive, not the legacy one, or you will not be able to set the secure boot setting.

See this link for the BIOS settings to change.

It refers to video card problems, but it also is how you can boot from multiple sources if you don't see any listed.
