@sart1, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Hi! It sounds like you're having trouble with downloading or running the HP assistant software. I can understand how frustrating that can be. Let's try a few things to troubleshoot:
Clear Cache and Re-download:
The download might have been corrupted or interrupted. Try clearing your browser cache and downloading the file again from HP Support Assistant | HP® Support.
Use a different browser if you're having trouble with the one you’re using.
Run as Administrator:
After downloading, try running the installer as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the downloaded installer file and select Run as administrator. This can help resolve permission-related issues.
Uninstall Previous Versions:
If you have an older version of the HP Assistant installed, it could be conflicting with the new version. Try uninstalling it through Control Panel > Programs and Features, then restart your computer and reinstall the latest version.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
