Hi @Sonny5040 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to enlarge a 4x6 photo to a 5x7 size using your scanned image, you'll need to use an image editing software.
Here’s a step-by-step guide you can follow on Windows 11:
Using Microsoft Photos
Open the Image:
- Right-click on the scanned image file and select Open with > Photos.
Resize the Image:
- Click on the Edit image button (the pencil icon).
- Select Resize from the menu.
- Choose Define Custom Dimensions and enter 5 inches for width and 7 inches for height.
- Ensure Maintain aspect ratio is unchecked since the aspect ratio needs to be adjusted for enlargement.
- Click Save a copy to save the resized image.
Using Paint
Open the Image:
- Right-click on the image file and select Open with > Paint.
Resize the Image:
- Go to the Home tab and click on Resize.
- Choose Pixels or Percentage and adjust accordingly. For precise sizing, you might need to switch to Pixels and calculate the pixel dimensions based on the dpi.
- Alternatively, if you need exact dimensions, you might prefer to use Percentage and resize the image to 125% (since 5x7 is approximately 25% larger than 4x6).
- Click OK and then save the file by clicking File > Save as.
Using Adobe Photoshop (if available)
Open the Image:
- Launch Photoshop and open your scanned image.
Resize the Image:
- Go to Image > Image Size.
- Ensure Resample is checked.
- Enter 5 inches for width and 7 inches for height. Ensure the resolution (dpi) is set to 1200 or as desired.
- Click OK and save your image by selecting File > Save As.
