Hi! Currently I have a desktop PC with an i5-6500 CPU. The mainboard has TPM 1.2 which is activated and there is FDE with Bitlocker. Is there need to upgrade TPM 1.2 to version 2.0? There is no option in Windows updates, but I found out that there is a tool HP TPM Configuration utility with ability to upgrade. is it necessary to upgrade TPM to increase system security? Or maybe best to disable discrete and activate firmware TPM found in CPU?

Thank you. I managed to update discrete TPM to version 2.0 with the help of HP TPM Configuration Utility version as suggested in the link. The only issue was that disk had to be decrypted first and after update encrypted again, but that process was fast. And installer did not allow to do the upgrade with SGX turned on in BIOS, so had to disable it to make it happen.
