my computer warranty expired around May of this year when I bought my PC in November, The warranty is supposed to last a year and was only 5 months. please help me understand why i didn't get the full extent of the warranty i would like to return my PC as the motherboard has been fried and I need a replacement for my pc.

Do not worry, Keep the Purchase invoice ready and I recommend you contact HP internal support for warranty updates.
They will validate the Proof of purchase and help you further.
