@Parimala1975, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To use the function keys on your HP All-in-One device, you can follow these general steps:

Utilizing Function Keys on HP All-in-One

Identifying Function Keys: On your keyboard, function keys are usually labeled as F1, F2, F3, etc., located at the top of the keyboard. They often have icons that indicate their specific functions.

Standard Functions:

  • F1: Often opens the help screen for the application you are using.
  • F2: Commonly used to rename selected item.
  • F3: Opens search feature.
  • F4: Typically used with Alt key to close active window.
  • F5: Refreshes the webpage or document.
  • F6: Moves cursor to address bar in browsers.
  • F7, F8, etc., may have additional functions like pausing/sliding show functions or toggling between screen modes.

Special Functions: HP laptops and All-in-One PCs often use these keys for system operations like adjusting brightness or volume. Look for additional icons on these keys, such as a sun for brightness or a speaker for volume.

Using Function Keys for Specific Tasks:

  • To access a specific function related to system settings, you may need to press Fn along with the function key. For example, Fn + F5 might adjust the brightness.

Customization: You can sometimes customize what these keys do through your system settings or third-party software. This customization is often found under keyboard or system settings where you can define shortcuts.

Locking/Unlocking:

  • Some HP keyboards have a function key lock (often labeled as Fn Lock), allowing you to toggle between using the function keys for their default actions or their media/system controls by pressing Fn + Esc.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
