Hello
I am a user of design programs and I need the button TAB for continuous use. Unfortunately, the options given do not make it possible. Is there any way?

Thank you

Hi @gionik,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 430 mouse TAB key programming issue for AutoCAD use. Let’s go through a few checks.

Check HP accessory software configuration

Connect the HP 430 mouse to the computer.

Open the HP accessory configuration software installed on the system.

Select the mouse from the device list.

Open the Buttons or Customization section.

Check whether Keyboard Function or Keystroke Assignment is available.

Assign a keystroke function

Select the programmable mouse button you want to use.

Choose Keystroke Assignment or Keyboard Shortcut.

Enter the TAB key as the assigned function.

Save the configuration profile.

Test the button in AutoCAD.

Check application profile settings

Open the mouse configuration software.

Create a new application profile for AutoCAD.

Assign the TAB keystroke to the desired mouse button.

Save the profile.

Launch AutoCAD and test the button.

Verify keyboard behavior

Open a text editor.

Press the mouse-assigned button.

Confirm the TAB character is inserted.

Restart the computer if the assignment does not respond.

Test again in AutoCAD.

Note: Some HP mouse models support only preset button actions. If the TAB key cannot be assigned, the device firmware may not support custom keystroke mapping.

I hope this helps.
