Hi @LooseScrew,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the HP Performance and Tune-Up Check on your HP Slim Desktop is not working, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your computer has a stable and active internet connection. The performance and tune-up check may require an internet connection to download updates and information.
Update HP Support Assistant: Make sure that you have the latest version of HP Support Assistant installed on your computer. You can download the latest version from the official HP website.
Restart HP Support Assistant: Close HP Support Assistant and restart your computer. After the reboot, open HP Support Assistant again and try running the performance and tune-up check.
Firewall and Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, security software like firewalls or antivirus programs can interfere with the performance check. Temporarily disable these programs and try running the performance check again. If it works, you may need to add exceptions for HP Support Assistant in your security software settings.
Check for Updates: Ensure that your operating system and all drivers are up-to-date. Outdated software can sometimes cause issues with performance checks. Check for updates through Windows Update or the respective update utility for your operating system.
Reinstall HP Support Assistant: If the issue persists, you may want to uninstall HP Support Assistant and then reinstall it. To do this, go to "Control Panel" > "Programs" > "Programs and Features," find HP Support Assistant in the list, and uninstall it. Then, download and install the latest version from the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
