Hi @julian46,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that your HP computer has been hacked. It's important to take immediate action to secure your personal information and protect your computer from further harm. Here are some steps you can take.
- Disconnect from the Internet: Unplug your computer from the network or turn off your Wi-Fi to prevent the hacker from accessing your system further.
- Change your passwords: Start by changing the password for your Discord account. Make sure to create a strong and unique password that is not easily guessable. Additionally, change the passwords for any other important accounts you have, such as your email, online banking, or social media accounts. Use a different password for each account.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA): Set up two-factor authentication for your Discord account and any other online accounts that offer this security feature. This adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a verification code in addition to your password when logging in.
- Scan your computer for malware: Use an up-to-date antivirus or antimalware software to scan your HP computer for any malicious software that may have been installed. Remove any threats detected by the software.
- Update your software: Ensure that all the software on your computer, including your operating system, web browsers, and applications, are up to date. Updates often include security patches that address vulnerabilities hackers may exploit.
- Review your accounts and financial statements: Check your bank statements and other financial accounts for any suspicious activity. If you notice any unauthorized transactions, report them to your bank or financial institution immediately.
- Be cautious of phishing attempts: Hackers may attempt to deceive you through phishing emails or messages to gain access to your personal information. Be wary of any suspicious emails or messages and avoid clicking on links or providing personal information unless you're certain it's from a trusted source.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
