Its specs

          https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-880-000-desktop-pc-series/15776604/model/22506254/do...

It has 8GB of RAM and 1TB of 7200RPM HDD. How much C do you have now ?

With ONLY 8GB of RAM, machine has to swap/page data from memory (RAM) to storage (HDD) a lot at why HDD is always busy specially when you put a lot of data/files on C:

1. RAM A quick way to improve is to upgrade RAM to 32GB using 4x8GB compatible RAM such as

          https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4dfs824a/ct13995683

It has 1 stick now, you only need 3 more.

1. STORAGE: It has one free M.2 socket 3, key M therefore you can add M.2 NVMe SSD to this slot then move Windows and Apps/Program to it, use HDD for user data only.

Regards.
