My HP all in one computer will NOT turn on. I have tried the hard reset, unplugging it , everything!! It was on but the screen wouldnt turn on after i didnt touch it for a day or two, i tried my mouse to get the screen on, didnt work. Power light only blinked, then i turned it off to reset it as i normally do, tried to turn it back on and NOTHING. I hold down the power button, it blinks once but nothing happens , everything is plugged in correctly... What do i do!!!

Hi @Kissyourfate

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP All-in-One is experiencing a power fault or display initialization issue. Since the power light blinks once and nothing else happens, this may point to a hardware-level problem that needs a deeper reset or component check.

I understand how unsettling it is when a trusted system goes silent—especially after trying everything you know should work. Let’s walk through a few precise steps that may help bring it back to life:

Step-by-step recovery process for HP All-in-One systems:

Disconnect all power and peripherals completely

  • Unplug the power cord from the wall and the back of the PC.
  • Remove any USB devices, external drives, or memory cards.

Perform a static discharge reset

  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • This helps drain residual charge from internal components.

Reconnect power only

  • Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
  • Leave all other devices disconnected.

Try powering on again

  • Press the power button once firmly.
  • Watch for any fan movement, screen flicker, or change in LED behavior.

If the system still doesn’t respond:

Check the power adapter and cable

  • If possible, test with a compatible replacement adapter.
  • Inspect the cable for damage or loose connections.

Inspect the display closely

  • Shine a flashlight at the screen while powering on.
  • If you see faint images, the backlight may have failed.

Use the BIOS recovery method (if supported)

  • Press and hold the Windows key + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B for 10–15 seconds.
  • Listen for beeps or fan activity—this may trigger BIOS recovery.

If the system remains completely unresponsive after these steps, the issue may involve the power supply, motherboard, or internal display components. I can help you explore next steps or locate service options if needed.

Just let me know your exact model number (found on the back or bottom of the unit).
