Hi @nitin611,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can be when essential features like Bluetooth and the mute key suddenly stop working after a Windows update. Let’s walk through a clear, step-by-step process to restore your system and include a BIOS update to ensure everything runs smoothly again.

1. Restore Bluetooth Functionality

A. Check Device Manager

  1. Press Win + X, select Device Manager, and expand Bluetooth.
  2. If your Bluetooth adapter is listed but grayed out or has a yellow triangle, right-click it and choose Enable device.
  3. If it’s missing entirely, go to Action → Scan for hardware changes to rediscover it.

B. Reinstall Bluetooth Driver

  1. In Device Manager, right-click the Bluetooth adapter → Uninstall device (tick “Delete driver files” if available).
  2. Restart your PC. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
  3. If Bluetooth still doesn’t reappear, go to Action → Update driver → Search automatically.

C. Download Manufacturer Driver

  1. Visit HP’s support site and search for your desktop model.
  2. Download the Intel Bluetooth driver v23.60.0.1 (or the latest Realtek driver) compatible with Windows 11 24H2.
  3. Run the installer and restart your PC.

2. Restore Mute Key Indicator

  1. Open Device Manager → expand Keyboards, right-click your keyboard device → Update driverSearch automatically.
  2. Next, open Sound settings, right-click your device icon, and make sure Show the volume control in the taskbar is enabled.

This can resolve software-level issues with mute indicator functionality.

3. Update BIOS to the Latest Version

A. Using HP Support Assistant

  1. Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from HP’s site).
  2. Go to the My Dashboard → click Updates.
  3. If a BIOS update is listed, check it and click Download and install

B. Manual BIOS Update

  1. Go to Official HP® Support.
  2. Enter your product name/serial number and select Windows 11.
  3. Download the BIOS update under the BIOS category.
  4. Run the .exe file, follow prompts (disable BitLocker if prompted), and restart to apply the update.

Check for Windows Updates & Reboot

After all installations:

  1. Go to Settings → Windows Update and click Check for updates.
  2. Install any pending updates and restart to finalize changes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
