Hi @ticktickandchic,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0x80190194 usually occurs when adding email accounts in the Windows Mail app and can be related to issues with the app, server settings, or account synchronization. Here's how you can resolve it.

Check Yahoo Account Settings

  • Make sure your Yahoo account has IMAP or POP enabled (IMAP is preferred for syncing across devices).
  • Log in to your Yahoo account on a browser and verify:
    • Two-step verification is disabled (if you're not using an app password).
    • Generate an app password if two-step verification is enabled. You can do this in Yahoo settings under Account Security > Manage App Passwords.

Update the Windows Mail App

  • Open Microsoft Store.
  • Go to Library and click Get Updates to ensure the Mail app is up-to-date.

Manually Add the Yahoo Account

  • Open the Mail app on your HP laptop.
  • Go to Settings (gear icon) > Manage Accounts > Add Account.
  • Select Other Account (IMAP) and manually enter:
    • Incoming Mail Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
      • Port: 993
      • Encryption: SSL/TLS
    • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
      • Port: 465 or 587
      • Encryption: SSL/TLS

Reset the Mail App

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features.
  • Find Mail and Calendar, click it, and select Advanced Options.
  • Click Reset, then try adding the account again.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Install any available updates, as an outdated system can cause compatibility issues.

Temporarily Disable Firewall/Antivirus

  • Some antivirus programs or firewall settings might block the connection. Disable them temporarily and try adding the account again.

Use a Different Email Client (Optional)

If the Mail app continues to give issues, consider using another email client like Outlook, Thunderbird, or Yahoo's webmail.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
