unable to open the driver file for my hp external monitor. i obtained the driver download from the hp site. every time i open the file to try to install the driver, the following message appears "failed to extract archive" i have no clue what this message is saying. i really need this driver download because my monitor is acting up. i would really appreciate any assistance in fixing this problem. googled the question, but the answer's given, didn't work for me. as i a computer illiterate person, who types with 2 fingers, this problem is frustrating

The HP drivers are distributed in files known as softpaqs -- which are self-extracting archives that you can NOT open on your own. You simply double-click them to run them; you do not open them.
