@JDinMorris  -- from: What is BridgeCommunication.exe from HP in Windows 11/10? (thewindowsclub.com)

HP offers HP JumpStart Bridge program which is a welcome program to help users to get started with their new laptops. The program allows the owners with registration, regular hardware, and software updates. It also offers activation of antivirus solution that is available as part of the program.

This does not answer my question.  Why is there 20 instances running and how do I remove it?

@JDinMorris --  how do I remove it?

While you see the listing of all the instances, click with the right-side mouse button on an instance, and then choose "End Task". Repeat as necessary.

No,  how do I remove it from the system.  simply ending the task does not address the problem

Not really recommended, but sometimes brute force is a bypass:

  1. do the "end task" trick on all the instances,
  2. open the folder containing the EXE file,
  3. using "administrative privileges", RENAME the file, to add a suffix, e.g., "dot-J-D",
  4. restart your computer.

Since Windows can no longer "find" the file, it cannot launch it.

when i tried that,  i got a message box that said i need permission from "System" to do that.

How can i just uninstall those HP bloatware programs?

I did write:

    Using "administrative privileges", RENAME the file, to add a suffix, e.g., "dot-J-D"

Try these "brute force" steps:

  1. click the "Windows" icon on the bottom-left of the monitor;
  2. click "Shutdown";
  3. while holding-down the SHIFT key, click on "Restart"

This should restart Windows to a different screen, the one usually used for diagnosing problems.

From there, choose to open a command-line prompt.

Navigate to the folder containing that file.

Use the RENAME command to add the suffix.

Click to restart normally.
