Product: hp printer 3830

I have correctly installed my HP Officejet 3830 series on Laptop. I'm having trouble scanning documents from my printer to my laptop.  Please Help...

To provide you with an accurate solution, I would like to know the following:

 

What is the Operating System installed on your Laptop?

Is there any error message when you try to scan?

Are you trying to scan from the laptop or from the printer?
