Hi @asrana,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The I2C HID Device error, especially error code -10, typically relates to hardware communication issues with the touchpad. Here are some steps to further diagnose and potentially resolve the issue.
Update Drivers
Device Manager: Go to Device Manager, find the I2C HID Device under Human Interface Devices, right-click and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
HP Support Website: Download and install the latest drivers from HP’s official support site for your Pavilion x360.
Check Touchpad Settings
HP Support Assistant: Open the HP Support Assistant app and check for touchpad driver updates or related hardware checks.
Touchpad Settings: Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and make sure the touchpad is enabled. Adjust settings if necessary.
Reinstall Drivers
- Uninstall Driver: In Device Manager, right-click on the I2C HID Device and choose Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver.
BIOS Update
- BIOS Update: Check if there’s a BIOS update available for your model on the HP support site. Sometimes BIOS updates address hardware compatibility issues.
Hardware Diagnostics
- HP Hardware Diagnostics: Run a hardware diagnostic test using HP’s built-in diagnostics tool. This can be accessed by pressing F2 during startup or via HP Support Assistant.
Check Windows Updates
- Ensure your system is fully updated by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Check for Physical Issues
- Hardware Inspection: If none of the software solutions work, there could be a physical issue with the touchpad or its connection.
Restore Windows
- If you recently upgraded or changed system settings, consider restoring Windows to an earlier state where the touchpad was working fine. You can use System Restore for this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
