I have 4 x 8mb ram installed = 32mb.

@Amo981 --  I would have thought a bigger processor would consume tasks with less effort.

Correct. But, it is possible that your previous processor had 2 "cores" -- capable of simultaneously running 2 tasks, while your new computer has 4 or 6 or 8 cores, and each core can simultaneously handle that many tasks, and some of the newer processors have 2 threads per core, to give the effect of 8 or 12 or 16 cores.

I wonder if the processing for 4K-video is only using one of those many cores?  It takes a very-smart computer-programmer to exploit, "in parallel", the newest processors.

@Amo981
confusion, which makes our friend nervous
You have 4 * 8 gb of ram so 32 gb no MO

Maximum
Up to 128 GB
HP 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 non-ECC UDIMM
HP 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 ECC UDIMM

Is it this !?
this does not change the problem at all, however
And not enough to whip a cat, but it may seem strange

good continuation 😉
