Hello when i enable Freesync premium through the AMD Adrenaline software my screen flickers on desktop and games - i have an RX 9070 but i also had an Nvidia RTX 4060Ti which had the same issue. My refresh rate is 165 and the display resolution is 3440x1440.

Hi @Belaris,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • The exact monitor model you’re using.
  • How the monitor is connected (DisplayPort or HDMI, and which cable version).
  • Whether the flickering happens consistently or only under certain conditions (for example, at specific frame rates or when idle on desktop).
  • If you’ve noticed any difference when using different drivers or after a clean reinstall of the graphics driver.

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Check your monitor’s firmware: Some displays require a firmware update to work smoothly with FreeSync Premium.
  • Test with another cable: A certified DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 cable is recommended for high refresh rates.
  • Adjust the FreeSync range: In your monitor’s on-screen display (OSD), ensure the FreeSync range covers your refresh rate (e.g., 48–165Hz).
  • Disable Enhanced Sync in AMD Adrenalin, as it can sometimes conflict with FreeSync.
  • Try a different refresh rate temporarily (such as 144Hz) to see if the flicker persists

I hope this helps.
