Good evening,
I wonder if you can assist. I have purchased a HP EliteDesk 705 G4 Mini PC for use as a HTPC. However, I cannot get a display on my 4k Samsung EU55TU7020 TV when using AMD video drivers.
Specs of the machine include a Ryzen 5 2400GE with Vega 11 iGPU, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD. I use a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, to a HDMI cable to the TV.
When Window's own driver is used, I can get a display, like-wise if I boot into safe mode, again I get a display. It is only when AMD video drivers are loaded, so I lose display on the TV, and the no signal message is shown.
I've tried using a monitor, and I get a display on that with AMD drivers sucessfully, so I'm convinced this is a software issue.
I've tried setting the Hardware Device Installation Settings to No, to stop windows automatically installing a broken driver.
I've tried reinstalling Windows 10 from the built in recovery media, I've also tried updating the Windows 10 installation via Windows Update.
I've tried using HP's own 2018 graphics driver from the HP Support Assistant software, I've also tried using AMDs latest 22.1.2 drivers, and some previous drivers like 20.4.1. When trying this, I've also used DDU to remove the old drivers completely.
I've updated the BIOS of the machine, and ensured the chipset drivers are installed as well.
I've tried hotswapping between the TV and monitor to confirm the resolution isn't something the TV cannot display.
The HP support page lists a similar issue (currupt display) that was resolved in a KB fix, that's included in Windows Update.
I've seen various youtube videos and threads on the AMD forums about black screens, but none of the solutions have worked for me. Any ideas would be appreicated.
Thanks
Phill

I looked at the spec for this system and it appears (correct me if I am wrong) that you have a separate video board in addition to on-board graphics.
The motherboard picture I looked at had HDMI + DP ports and I assume the graphics board has its own output.
If the motherboard graphics work on TV set but the graphics board does not then the difference is the quality of the video signal. I discovered that the combination of a right angle HDMI plus a feed--through HDMI plus converter from gtx1070 was unable to drive large screen LG. I got rid of the feed-through and the right angle but still had to buy a higher quality cable. There was also a problem with the HDMI switch quality.
[edit] Forgot to mention that I did not have a problem until I replaced the GTX-1060 with the 1070. Both boards were made by eVga but the signal output of the the 1070 left a lot to be desired.

No, this is an all in one, mini PC, sounds like you you've confused it with a similar model. There is not a seperate graphics card, and is not upgradable. https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitedesk-705-35w-g4-desktop-mini-pc/21353696
Also, no it is not due to the quality of the video signal - as I stated, this ONLY happens with the AMD drivers.

Sorry. I did look up the model name but only the product ID (was missing) gives the exact version.
The driver controls the level of the signal.
All I can suggest to to visit the actual AMD site, let them "Discover" the correct driver.

I assume you have entered your product ID here and check for latest drivers. This should be done first.

If you have a powered HDMI switch you might try that and see if it "boosts" the video to where it is recognized.

If it works with a monitor but not a TV then the signal strength is the problem. I have a Surface Pro 4 that has the same problem and Micro$oft Tech Support said I needed an "active HDMI cable" That is geek talk for a powered hdmi switch.
If you have one try it else wait for a fix from HP or AMD.
