Hi @LauraPinelli,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your HP Pavilion 31.5-inch All-in-One Desktop PC should support a second monitor, but there are a few things to check.

Check the Video Output Port

Most HP All-in-One PCs have an HDMI-out port or USB-C with DisplayPort support. If your second monitor is not detected:

  • Make sure you are using the HDMI-out port, not HDMI-in (if available).
  • If using USB-C, ensure your adapter supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode).

Detect the Display Manually

  1. Right-click on the desktop → Select Display settings.
  2. Scroll down to Multiple displays and click Detect.
  3. If no display is found, try unplugging/replugging the cable.

Check the Display Settings

  • Ensure the correct input source is selected on the second monitor (e.g., HDMI).
  • Set the second display to Extend or Duplicate in Windows settings.

Update Graphics Drivers

  1. Open Device Manager → Expand Display adapters.
  2. Right-click your GPU (Intel/AMD/NVIDIA) → Select Update driver.
  3. Restart your PC and check again.

Test with a Different Cable/Monitor

  • Try another HDMI cable or monitor to rule out hardware issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
