My ENVY Desktop currently runs two monitors via the two HDMI ports on the back panel.

I would like to add a hand-me-down monitor that has DVI input.

My research suggests that I can do this in the windows 10 environment by a cable from the desktop's USB 3 port to an adaptor on the cable for the DVI connection. Sounds like a simple, relatively low-cost solution. Am I correct in my thinking or is there something more that I am missing?

Anyone out there with experience in doing this?

Best, Lee

That is a good choice. Please use a DisplayLink certified adapter such as the first one on the following link

Regards.
