I recently had to reset my operating system, retaining all of my data. Since then, no icons appear on my desktop, nor am I able to move any files to the desktop. Also, all "Quick Access" folders now show empty. I can find all of my files and folders on the hard drive but I cannot get them to appear on my new desktop. I thought I would try the other way, and change the new default addresses to the old addresses, but I cannot find a way to do that, either. Any help in getting thiis all straightened out would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
I suggest you manually backup your data and then perform the Reset without saving your files and let me know how it goes
If the issue persists, then you might have to perform a system recovery
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊
