Hi @Slusher17,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
That sounds like a serious screen struggle! Hopefully, we can get everything back to normal soon and your display stops acting like it's in a funhouse mirror. 😬

Meanwhile you can try these troubleshooting steps:
Disable Display Scaling (If Text and Icons Are Overlapping)
- Press Win + R, type sysdm.cpl, and hit Enter.
- Go to the Advanced tab and click Settings under Performance.
- Under the Visual Effects tab, select Adjust for best appearance OR manually uncheck “Smooth edges of screen fonts” and “Enable desktop composition”.
- Click Apply and OK.
Revert to Default Display Settings
If you suspect incorrect settings:
- Open Settings → System → Display.
- Scroll down and click "Advanced display settings".
- Find and reset to default settings.
Change Display Resolution
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down to Display resolution.
- Make sure it’s set to the recommended resolution (e.g., 1920x1080 for most screens).
- Apply the changes and check if the issue is resolved.
Adjust Refresh Rate
- Go to Display settings (Right-click on the desktop → Display settings).
- Scroll down and click Advanced display settings.
- Look for Refresh rate (e.g., 60Hz, 75Hz).
- Try changing it to a lower or higher rate (if available) and see if the screen stabilizes.
Reset Graphics Driver (Quick Fix)
- Press Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to restart the graphics driver.
- The screen will go black for a second, then refresh.
Update Display Driver
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click your graphics card (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA) and choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
