Hi @Jpetrie,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
The “ACPI BIOS ERROR” you're encountering on your HP Notebook—which causes a blue screen loop and prevents Windows from booting—is typically related to a BIOS or firmware issue, often triggered by a recent update or system change.
Here are a few steps to recover your system:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
This clears temporary memory and resets hardware connections:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Unplug the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the charger and try powering on.
2. Attempt BIOS Recovery
If the BIOS is corrupted, HP laptops often support automatic or manual BIOS recovery:
🔄 Manual BIOS Recovery:
- Insert a USB drive (no need to have files yet).
- Press and hold Windows + B (or Windows + V on some models).
- While holding the keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
- Release the power button but keep holding the keys until you hear beeps or see the screen light up.
If successful, the BIOS recovery screen will appear.
