Hi @Jpetrie,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The “ACPI BIOS ERROR” you're encountering on your HP Notebook—which causes a blue screen loop and prevents Windows from booting—is typically related to a BIOS or firmware issue, often triggered by a recent update or system change.

Here are a few steps to recover your system:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

This clears temporary memory and resets hardware connections:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Unplug the charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger and try powering on.

2. Attempt BIOS Recovery

If the BIOS is corrupted, HP laptops often support automatic or manual BIOS recovery:

🔄 Manual BIOS Recovery:

  1. Insert a USB drive (no need to have files yet).
  2. Press and hold Windows + B (or Windows + V on some models).
  3. While holding the keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  4. Release the power button but keep holding the keys until you hear beeps or see the screen light up.

If successful, the BIOS recovery screen will appear.
