So 2 days ago, my screen brightness keep dimming itself, and there's no brightness option in setting for me to turn it back on. I also tried to find "adaptive brightness" and there's none for my desktop. What can I do?

Thank you for the information.
Let's try these steps now:
- Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
- Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
- Then restart the computer and update the bios chipset and graphics drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers Select the country and type the product# of the unit. Then follow the onscreen instructions.
Now check for issue resolution. If it continues, then perform relevant steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c00832191 (HP Notebook PCs - Display Is Dim or Difficult to Read (Windows 10, 8, 7)
- Run all the latest Windows updates and ensure that they are installed correctly.
- Then run all HP support assistant updates and ensure that they are installed correctly on the machine.

Log into the new user account after restarting your computer.
Now check if the issue gets resolved in the new user account.
