Hi @tamarseff,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with the Built-in Camera not working.
If the built-in camera on your HP Pavilion All-In-One 27-Xo0xxx is not working and shows a black screen, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
1. Check Camera Privacy Settings
Ensure that camera access is enabled for the apps you're using:
- Open Settings by pressing Win + I.
- Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Ensure that the Camera access toggle is turned on.
- Scroll down to the Allow apps to access your camera section and ensure that the apps you want to use (e.g., Camera app, video conferencing apps) are enabled.
2. Restart the Computer
A simple restart can sometimes resolve camera issues:
- Restart your computer and check if the camera works.
3. Check Device Manager
Ensure that the camera is recognized and working properly in Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras section.
- Right-click on your camera (e.g., Integrated Camera) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If the driver is up to date, you can try Uninstall device and then restart your computer to reinstall the camera driver.
4. Update Windows
Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date:
- Open Settings by pressing Win + I.
- Go to Windows Update and click on Check for updates.
- Install any available updates and restart your computer.
5. Check Camera App Settings
Ensure that the camera app settings are configured correctly:
- Open the Camera app.
- Click on the gear icon (settings) in the top-left corner.
- Ensure that the correct camera is selected if there are multiple cameras.
Kindly check the next see of steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @tamarseff,
Please find the next set of steps below.
6. Test with Another App
Try using the camera with a different application to see if the issue persists. For example, try using a video conferencing app like Skype or Zoom.
7. Reinstall Camera Driver
Manually reinstall the camera driver:
- Download the latest camera driver from the HP Support website.
- Uninstall the current camera driver from Device Manager.
- Install the downloaded driver and restart your computer.
8. Check for Camera Kill Switch
Some HP laptops have a physical camera kill switch or a keyboard shortcut (usually a function key) that disables the camera. Ensure that the switch is not set to the off position.
9. Check BIOS Settings
Ensure that the camera is enabled in the BIOS:
- Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, or Del during startup).
- Look for a section related to integrated devices or security.
- Ensure that the camera is enabled.
- Save changes and exit the BIOS.
10. HP Support Assistant
Use the HP Support Assistant to check for issues and updates:
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Go to the My devices tab and select your computer.
- Click on Updates and check for any camera-related updates.
If none of the above steps work, it might be a hardware issue: I recommend contacting phone support for service options.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
