I´m a photographer just starting my business, and wanted to calibrate my new monitor (Pavilion 22xw) to get accurate prints of my work. Is it possible to calibrate it using the Spyder calibration device? How should I do this?
Thanks!

Hi,
If (IF is the operative word) the HP 22XW has hidden service menus (not documented by HP) then you might have a chance to improve calibration. I have a Spyder device and the technology is very old as it originally developed for CRTs then modified for 1st generation LCD displays.
Go to the Windows 10 Control Panel and select Color Management. If you look under the Devices tab you should see the ICC profile for your device. If not then go here to pick up the driver and utility-tools. A diagnostic tool is also available. The Advanced tab has additional functions that might fit your particular needs.
If you are not satisfied with the above, then the Control Panel hardware driver interface may give you additional functional adjustments. I know NVIDIA has some fine color adjustments that can be made.
Bottom line, if you are in need of professional quality perfection then review the information at this site and also here. Notice the equipment that is being used. Professionals with this type of equipment are certified for monitor calibration but the certification process will cost you more than the monitor. If you need this type of perfection then I would suggest that you consider a professional quality monitor $$$.
The Digital Video Essentials DVDs and the Toy Story DVD do have some basic color adjustment tools. These tools can be used along with the adjustments that can be made via the hardware driver Control Panel functions and/or any specific monitor menu functions. Don't attempt offline line calibration as the video driver and hardware can and will make subtle and sometimes drastic changes to the colors.
