1 - enter "camera" in the windows search box. An error message may appear. If so, click "Get Help". If there is no "Get Help" then read this article.
|
2 - Look at the keyboard function keys for a camera icon such as
|
if you see anything like that the press it and see if the camera starts working. It could also be a physical device such as a switch or a cover that closes over the lens. Some AIOs have an On Screen Display and that might have camera control for on/off. I do not have your particular system so am guessing.
some other resources
Let me know if there is still a problem.

Hi the model is below, I have tried all of the above, but there is no button as you describe or a switch on the computer.
Could it be a key not marked as a camera e.g. f1 or one of the number keys in connection with another key such as fn or alt?

I looked at the windows 11 software for you system and the only item that mentioned a camera was HP Presence
Try and see if that works. My guess is that it will not as I suspect the Windows update removed the low level camera drivers.
You can try the Intel HD Graphics driver download is here
Here is the official camera advice from HP
If neither of the above work then bring up the device manager and roll back the existing camera driver
Did you try rolling back the camera driver?
It could be the camera driver or the USB driver if the camera is connected to the USB. Many internal cameras are connected to the USB.
In the pictures below you would select the camera driver and then look for 'rollback'
|
If camera driver is the problem
|
If the problem is the wrong USB driver for the camera
|
If you cannot rollback the driver then try to find the best one or let windows try. One way is to just uninstall the camera and reboot as described in this official HP document..
The below post, unfortunately, is complicated but is useful if there there is no camera drivers at the HP website to download.
