While I'm on zoom meetings,my webcam is automatically zooming in. I did all possible ways to set it but I'm unable to fix this issue. It makes me feel very awkward during meetings. It's a brand new laptop,I just brought it a month ago
Can someone help me with this.
Thank you

Hi @AkhilaR,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your laptop's webcam during Zoom meetings. Let's try a few steps to resolve the issue.
Check Zoom Settings
- Open Zoom and go to Settings by clicking on your profile picture or the gear icon.
- Navigate to the Video tab.
- Ensure that the camera selected is the correct one (your laptop’s built-in camera).
- Check if there are any options like Enable HD or Original Ratio and try toggling them to see if it affects the zooming issue.
Update Camera Driver
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras section.
- Right-click on your camera device and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- If there is an update available, install it and restart your computer.
Check Camera Settings in the Camera App
- Open the Camera app from the Start menu.
- Check if the camera is zoomed in the Camera app.
- If the Camera app has zoom settings, try adjusting them.
Reset Zoom Video Settings
- Open Zoom and go to Settings.
- Navigate to the Video tab.
- Click on Advanced at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on Restore Defaults to reset all video settings.
Check for Manufacturer Software
Some laptops come with proprietary software for managing the webcam (e.g., HP Camera Control). If your laptop has such software:
- Open the software from the Start menu or system tray.
- Check if there are any settings related to zoom or cropping and adjust accordingly.
Reinstall Zoom
- Uninstall Zoom from your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Download and install the latest version of Zoom from the official website.
Test in Other Applications
Check if the issue persists in other video conferencing applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Skype). This can help determine if the issue is specific to Zoom or the webcam itself.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be a hardware issue with the camera.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
