Hi @EmmaBerisha,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about the camera issue, don’t worry let me help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Which HP laptop model are you using?
  • Do you recall if the camera ever worked consistently, or has it always been intermittent?
  • Are you seeing any error messages when trying to use apps like Zoom or the Camera app?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try right away:

Check Camera Settings

  • Press Windows + I → go to Privacy & Security → Camera.
  • Make sure camera access is turned On for apps.

Verify Device Manager Again

  • Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
  • Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras. If you don’t see your camera, click View → Show hidden devices.

Run Windows Troubleshooter

  • Press Windows + I → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Camera troubleshooter if available.

Update Drivers

  • Visit HP Support Assistant (pre-installed on most HP laptops).
  • Check for driver updates, especially for the camera and chipset.

Reset the Camera App

  • Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps → search for Camera.
  • Click Advanced options → Reset.

I hope this helps.
