Can I charge a monitor via a Thunderbolt 120 docking station - via the USB-C cable? I am keen not to use the power cable which comes with the monitor because of desk clutter...

@Thor75 -- short answer: NO.

If your monitor either has a built-in web-camera, or has USB-A (the large silver-coloured rectangle) sockets, the USB-C cable will send/receive audio/video or keyboard/mouse signals to your computer.

Also, any monitor requires MUCH higher wattage than can be routed through any USB cable.

So, you need to use the heavy-duty power-cable that came with the monitor.
