Rfrb 610-1180qd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I would like to use my 610 as an extended monitor for my laptop. The 610 has two HDMI IN ports. It does not have an external source button. When I connect them with an HDMI cable, the Settings/Display window on the laptop shows both itself and the 610, but when I click on Identify, the laptop displays the large "1", but the 610 does not display the "2". Any suggestions? Thank you. David

Hi @DavidS62

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Hi Nirvana_95,

Model 610-1180qd

I was able to locate the remote control for it. Pushing the AV button did not make a difference. The Touchsmart received the signal because the light in the front blinked, but that's about it.

One thing that it does not do is come out of sleep mode. I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer and then manually restart it. That's probably another issue for another thread.

Thanks,

David

In that case, I would suggest you update all the drivers and let me know the outcome of it.

Drivers updated including optional updates. No change. Any idea what the name of this HDMI driver would be so I can make sure I didn't miss it?

Thanks,

David

Hi Nirvana_95,
I went thru the troubleshooting list as directed, but no difference.
The troubleshooter fixed what was found. Same as shown in your video.
The keyboard is set to "allow to wake".
Changed hybrid sleep to off.
My apologies, just to clarify, the computer does wake up but the screen stays black.
Still cannot use it as a monitor.
Thanks,
David

Hi Nirvana_95,

Is there a next step?

Sorry for my delayed response here.

May I know which laptop are you using to connect your monitor?

Were you able to check the specification of it? Does it support this connection?

Let me know.

Thanks!

It is a Dell Precision 7550. I can connect it to a plain monitor with no issues using the USB or to two monitors with the USB-C docking station. What particular spec is important?

Thanks,

David
