HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0029

Hi, I've recently purchased an extended monitor for travelling, but I want to connect it to my desktop when I'm not travelling. I see there's a USB-C port in the front of the tower, but when it connects, my extended monitor doesn't respond (unlike when I hook it to my laptop). All my other desktop ports for monitors are used already.

I've read that some USB-C ports do not allow for video and audio, how can I check if my desktop allows or not?

If it doesn't allow, is there any work around? Can I buy something to connect in between the desktop USB-C port and my extended monitor? Thank you.
